Caring For Your New Tattoo

  1. Gently wash the tattoo once daily with soap using fingers only (instead of a washcloth), and pat dry gently.

  1. Use the sample ointments given to you (Bacitracin or A&D Ointment) as directed to moisturize your new tattoo or use Emu oil (5-10 drops of Lavender Oil per ounce of Emu), Tamanu tattoo cream, or any unscented body cream. This is important to maintain elasticity in your tattooed skin as it heals so it does not crack the scab and possibly scar your new tattoo. DO NOT put Vaseline (harbors bacteria) or Neosporin (allergic reaction) on your tattoo.

  1. To reduce swelling / pain in the first 24 hours, you may apply ice to the area for 10-15 minutes at a time, allowing at least 15 minutes between icings.

  1. The tattoo will scab/flake; don’t pick or rub these scabs off as they must come off naturally. Slap it with a flat hand to take the itch out! If you Pick or Rub you will damage your Tattoo!

  1. Your new tattoo is delicate for the first few weeks. It is important to keep it out of direct sunlight, and to keep it as dry as possible, meaning Absolutely no swimming, soaking, or sun tanning for the first 3-4 weeks

After 3-4 weeks you can party in the Hot Tub till you wrinkle!
